For an internal showcase on projection mapping and audio design, we drew on one of the most impressive examples of recent years: the mapping video "Projection Mapping Showreel 2019" by Vision Impossible – the winning entry of iMapp Bucharest 2018 , one of the most prestigious projection mapping competitions worldwide.
Our goal was to provide a practical demonstration of sound design for visual projection art . To achieve this, we removed the original sound and replaced it with our own composition and sound design .
Our approach:
Composition: We have created a new musical level that is dramaturgically oriented towards the visual transitions and effects – with a focus on rhythm, dynamics and tension curves.
Sound design: All sound effects and Foleys were individually created or recreated to create an immersive experience. These include glitchy transitions, bass-heavy impacts, digital textures, and atmospheric elements.
Application context: The result is suitable as an example for the use of sound in the field of projection mapping, multimedia installations and show design – i.e. where visual art is complemented and enhanced by precise audio design.
We would like to emphasize that all image rights remain with the original author, Vision Impossible. Our contribution serves solely for demonstration and educational purposes in the field of audio production for visual media .
